Ben Jefka

MSW, LICSW, MS

Ben attended graduate school at the University of New Hampshire’s School of Social Work, where he earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Master’s in Outdoor Education through a specialty program in Adventure Therapy. Most of Ben’s experience has been working with adolescents and their families, though he also enjoys family therapy and working with adults. He began his career in social work at the Van Vleck House in Jackson, WY, a therapeutic group home for adolescents placed in child protective custody. Later, he provided case management services for children and families in crisis and collaborated with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) and the family court system, supporting families navigating the reunification process with children under the age of three in the Upper Valley.

In addition to providing services at Hannah’s House, Ben also works for Lamoille County Mental Health Services as a School-Based Clinician at Stowe Middle/High School. In this role, he provides individual therapy for students, runs social-emotional groups, and facilitates Coordinated Services Plans (CSPs). He also supports parents, school staff, and administrators as the school’s mental health representative, and mentors new therapists placed in other schools throughout Lamoille County.

Ben lives in Montpelier with his wife and their two young sons. Together, they love to ski, rock climb, and spend as much time outdoors as possible.
